March 23: Athens and a Cooking Class!

Today, we went up Athens' highest point, Lycabettus Hill. Some of us took the cable car, and some of us ran up. The view from up there was great! You could even see the ocean. There is a Greek myth about Lycabettus Hill. The Goddess Athena was carrying rocks to help people build the Parthenon. Athena was flying over Athens with a big rock when she heard that a treasured basket that she had entrusted to others was opened without her permission. She was so upset that she dropped the rock, and this created Lycabettus Hill.

After coming back down, we ate lunch, explored the local fish and meat market, and then we went to the cooking class. There, we made spinach pie, mosaic cake, and tzatziki sauce. We also ate other things that the teacher prepared in advance. We went back to the hotel after eating our creations and watched the sun set from the 8th floor of our hotel. (Post by Alex)
