We left Olympia this morning for Delphi. We waited for the bus, it was a little late, and then we finally got on it. The ride was beautiful, and we chilled on the bus. We saw mountains and the sea, and we crossed a beautiful bridge across the gulf. We saw the ocean, and it was very blue. The bus ride took about three hours, and we arrived at Itea, Greece. We were surprised to be dropped off in front of a gas station, and we were told that we had to walk a little more than half a mile to another bus station to buy tickets for the rest of the way to Delphi.
We had to stop and ask several people to make sure we were going in the right direction. The bus ride up to Delphi was beautiful, the bus drove up hairpin turns, and we went so high. It felt so high to us. We could see mountains with snow, and the sea seemed far away. We thought we were very high, but we were actually only at around 1,900 feet compared to Santa Fe's 7,000 feet! When we arrived, Cy and Scott bought another ticket for us to return from Delphi to Athens next Wednesday. Then we had to walk to the top of the hill to get to our hotel with our bags. Some of us were tired, but we made it! After we settled in, we went out to explore the area. We saw many cool things, old buildings, and great views and took many pictures. We finally had dinner, as we didn’t have lunch today. We just had snacks on the ride up here. Dinner was so delicious! We enjoyed our traditional Greek dinner.
